First Bite of Taperia Raca [CLOSED]

The much anticipated Taperia Raca finally opens this evening. The second concept from the guys that brought us Eating House, Giorgio Rapicavoli and Alex Casanova, is a cozy restaurant in Miami’s MiMo District serving up Spanish-inspired tapas with Rapicavoli’s signature twist. The kitchen is led by Ryan Harrison, formerly of Preservation in Sunny Isles, who’s extensive knowledge of pickling and curing meats is seen throughout the menu.

We got to the opportunity to sample some of the dishes last night and enjoyed it all. Some stand outs included the ‘queso burrata’ with salsa romanesco, charred scallion, and olive oil; ‘patatas contentas’ with fried baked potatoes, black truffle, bacon and manchego; ‘empanadas de pollo’ with braised chicken thighs, smoked tomato, peppers, and the ‘almejas’ with Sebastian inlet clams, saffron, chorizo, sherry wine and pork broth.

Dinner service begins tonight at 6 p.m. with daily lunch and Sunday brunch kicking off this weekend. Check out some of the tasty dishes below as a sneak peek of what to expect.
